Supporting you through our phased withdrawal
Ulster Bank Review of Mortgage Accounts
Ulster Bank has identified a mortgage system-generated error which has impacted certain current and former customer mortgage accounts, discovered as part of its phased withdrawal from the Republic of Ireland.
The error had an impact on the amount of mortgage interest that accrued on the mortgage balance and, in some cases, affected the phasing of customer Normal Monthly Repayments (NMR). The error did not impact the total amount of capital to be repaid on the mortgage or the rate of interest charged.
Ulster Bank would like to sincerely apologise for this issue.
What is Ulster Banking doing to fix this issue?
Ulster Bank will make a payment to ensure no customer or former customer is out of pocket as a result of this issue. Customers will receive a letter explaining how their mortgage has been impacted and detailing the payment that will be made to them.
When will I know if I have been impacted by this issue?
We want to ensure that we do the right thing for our customers, so we are carrying out a comprehensive review of mortgages that may be impacted. This is being done on a phased basis and any impacted customers will receive a letter over the next several months explaining how mortgage accounts have been affected and detailing the payments to be made. There is no further action for you to take at this time.
