Bankline Support

To see more information about a transaction: 

• Select 'Account information' from the left hand menu, and then 'View account balance'.
• Select the underlined Account ID for the relevant account. 

To print a statement:

• Select Print / Save statement when viewing the statement on screen.
• Select 'Account information' and then 'View account statement' from the left hand menu.
• Select the 'Account ID' of the account you need the statement for or search for an account.

Some banks may refer to your Bank Identification Code (BIC) as a SWIFT code. If you have an Ulster Bank Republic account, your BIC/SWIFT will be: ULSBIE2D.

If you're asked for an 11 character BIC/SWIFT, just add XXX at the end. 

The different balances on display are:

• Last night's ledger - the ledger balance as at the close of the previous business day including all uncleared items.
• Last night's cleared - the ledger balance as at the close of the previous business day excluding all uncleared items.
• Today's ledger - the current ledger balance including all uncleared items plus debit and credit transactions known us.

We're sorry to hear you're thinking of closing your Bankline profile. 

If you want to cancel Bankline, you'll need your Bankline administrator (or two where Dual administration is turned on) to email the our administration team from your registered email address on:

To view, edit, delete or suspend other Bankline users, you'll need to have administrative privileges.

From 'Administration', select 'Manage Users', then select the relevant User ID.

First, check the user's status on the 'Manage Users' screen. If they have the status 'disabled',  it means they're locked out of Bankline and need re-activating.

To help them regain access you can use the following options:

To reactivate a user (re-instating their current PIN and password)

1. From the manage users screen select the User ID
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Reinstate user', followed by 'Confirm'
3. If your organisation uses dual administration you may need a second administrator to approve this
4. The user can then log in with their existing password

To reactivate a user who's forgotten their current PIN and password

1. From the manage users screen select the User ID
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click 'Order new activation code', followed by 'Confirm'
3. If your organisation uses dual administration you may need a second administrator to approve this
4. Once confirmed, the user will immediately receive an activation code by email, which they can use to create a new password to log in (they'll also need to create a PIN for use with some additional Bankline services - this is not the same as your smartcard PIN)

If your organisation has enabled the automated PIN/Password reset, users can order a new activation code from the Bankline login screen, as long as they know their existing Bankline user email address.

If you're seeing this message, it's most likely because there's an issue with your login details up to this point.

Problems with logging in are often due to a saved or old link, so try changing that first. The correct link is  http://www.ulsterbank.ie/Bankline

If you've locked your account but you still know your log in password, your administrator can reinstate your access. Once they've done this, you'll be able to carry on using the same log in details.

To reset your password follow these steps.

• On the log in page, where you enter your password, click the 'request an activation code' link.*
• Enter your email address (the one that your adminstrator set you up with on Bankline)** 
• Wait 30 minutes to receive your activation code, remember to check your spam folder in case its landed in there Log in again using your Customer ID, User ID, activation code and smartcard. You'll then be asked to create new login details. To reset your password follow these steps:
• On the log in page, where you enter your password, click the 'request an activation code' link.* 
• Enter your email address (the one that your adminstrator set you up with on Bankline)** 
• Wait 30 minutes to receive your activation code, remember to check your spam folder in case its landed in there.
• Log in again using your Customer ID, User ID and activation code. You'll then be asked to create new login details*If you can't see the link, or you can't click on it, contact your Bankline administrator. They can send you an activation code. They also have the option to turn on the 'automated PIN/password reset', so you can reset it yourself in future.
  

** If your email address isn't recognised, you'll need your administrator to check and update this. I'm trying to request an activation code but it won't accept my email address, what should I do?

Tips for once you have your activation code

Passwords must be 6-20 characters with at least one number and one letter, but no special characters. They aren't case sensitive PINs (used for additional Bankline services - this is not your smartcard PIN) must be four digits. You can't use ascending or descending number sequences or have the same number more than twice in a row. Your activation code is made up of 10 digits. You'll enter the first five digits in one box and the second in another.

The Collection Processing Report is available for a file the morning after your file is fully authorised. It details the file totals and any rejections.

The Collection Settlement Report is available the morning after the settlement date for all batches in any files submitted with that settlement date. It details the totals settled and any further rejections or returns.

The report will be available for 60 calendar days.

Two reports types are available for up to 60 days the  Collection Processing Report and the Collection Settlement Report.

• In the SEPA DD Origination section on the left hand menu, select Download file.
• The menu items displayed are based on privileges assigned to the user. Click Download File.
• The Download report file screen is displayed. By default the Collection Processing Report radio button is selected, if you want to download a Collection Settlement Report click the radio button for this.To download a report
• Enter the Creditor ID from the dropdown list. Enter File date range.
• This can be no more than 2 months in the past and restricted to a three month date range. Click Search.
• The Download file enquiry search results screen is displayed. The File validation date and time shows the most recent validated file first. Click on the link to download the report.
• The smartcard authorisation screen is displayed. You need to authorise your action using your smartcard and reader. The Download Collection Processing or Collection Settlement Report is displayed.
• Select the relevant radio button. Click Download now.
• By default, the report radio button is selected, the formatted report will be available to download for printing in TXT format only. If the XML file radio button is selected the report will be available in XML format only.

Here are the steps to raise the payment:

• Select 'Payments', then 'Make a Payment' 
• Select 'Standard' under 'Domestic payments'
•  Select the account you want to pay from (you can use the magnifying glass to help with this)
• Select the date you want the payment to arrive. 
• Enter the amount of the payment Enter the reference you want to appear on your statement. 
• Enter the name of the beneficiary, their IBAN/BIC 
• Enter a reference to appear on the beneficiary's statement, so they know who the payment is from and any addition information in the Information for Beneficiary fields 
• Once all the fields are completed, click 'Make payment' Check all the information is correct and click 'Confirm' once you're happy to go ahead.
•  If you're able to authorise this payment yourself, you'll see a QR code, and you can go on to authorise it with your smartcard. If not, you'll be taken back to the 'Make a payment' screen. 
• Remember to tell the appropriate payment authoriser that there's a payment ready for authorising.

A SEPA payment is a Euro payment made between members of the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA).

Compared to a standard international payment, this is a simpler and cheaper way to make Euro payments between the countries within this agreement.  Typically, they arrive the same day we process them.

• A Standard payment to an Ulster Bank account (Intra-Bank Payment - IBP) can be made at any time and on any day. The payment will debit and credit in near real-time.
• A Standard payment to a non-Ulster Bank account has a cut-off time of 14.00 to achieve same-date value. These payments can also only be made on a working day. If the cut-off is missed, the payment will re-date to the next working day.
• A same day payment has a cut-off time of 15.50 to achieve same-date value. These payments can also only be made on a working day. If the cut-off is missed, the payment will re-date to the next working day.
• Bulk standard domestic payments will behave as per Standard payments above, although please note that every beneficiary must be an Ulster Bank account for the IBP cut-off to apply.

IBAN stands for International Bank Account Number - a standard way to uniquely identify an account for the purpose of improving the efficiency and speed of payments.

Whenever you make a payment within the SEPA-zone, you use an IBAN to identify the account you want to credit, together with a bank identifier code (BIC).

An IBAN is not a new bank account number. It uses the existing bank account details plus additional characters. Bankline will alert you if you have not entered the IBAN in a valid format for that country. A sample IBAN layout is shown on the Bankline international payment screen.

This is a guaranteed same-day payment that can be used to make or settle urgent euro payments to Republic of Ireland sort codes that can accept Same Day payments.

If you still haven't received it or need a new one, you'll need to speak to your Bankline administrator (this is likely to be the person in your business who set up you up on Bankline).

We ask that you dispose of your Bankline QR reader(s) and smartcard in an environmentally friendly way. There is a battery in your Bankline QR reader, all waste batteries are classed as hazardous waste and should not be put in your household bin.
