Help with balances queued to be transferred to the Ulydien Trust Company LTD

I received a letter advising I still have an unclaimed balance from a closed Ulster Bank Ireland DAC account(s) or product(s) which is queued to transfer to Ulydien Trust Company Limited.

Can I reclaim my funds before they are transferred to Ulydien Trust Company Limited?

Yes, you have three options:

Option 1: If you received a cheque from us and it remains in date, i.e. it is less than 6 months since date of issue, you can lodge the cheque to your account with your new financial provider.

Option 2: If for any reason you are unable to lodge your cheque, for example, the cheque has expired, you have lost your cheque or you did not receive a cheque from us, please phone us;

For closed credit cards contact our Credit Card Centre on 0818 210 261 (lines open 24 hours a day including Bank Holidays, if phoning from outside the Republic of Ireland call +44 1702 275524)

For all other closed UBIDAC account(s) or product(s) contact our Customer Support team on 0818 210 260 (00353 1804 7475 if calling from abroad). Lines are open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm.

Option 3: If you would like to donate the value of your unclaimed funds to one of our chosen charities, you can find the details at www.ulsterbank.ie/charitydonations. Please email us at CharityDonation@ulsterbank.com and we will arrange the donation for you.

If you have received a cheque, the email should include the name of the payee as detailed on the cheque, the amount of the cheque, the serial number of the cheque and your chosen charity.

If you did not receive a cheque and your account was a current or deposit account, the email should include the sort code and account number of your closed account, the amount to be donated and your chosen charity.

If your account was a credit card, you can request your credit balance be donated to charity by contacting the Card Centre on 0818 210 261 (lines open 24 hours a day including Bank Holidays; if phoning from outside the Republic of Ireland call +44 1702 275524).

Yes, the same 3 options noted above can be followed, i.e. :

Cash the cheque if it remains in date
Contact us to complete a reclaim or
Advise us if you would like funds to be donated to charity.

If the minor named on the closed account is under 7, the parent/guardian(s) named on the closed account must provide their details to complete a reclaim or advise of a donation to charity.

If the closed account holder is under 18 and a parent/guardian was named on the closed account, they must also provide their details to complete a reclaim or advise of a donation to charity.

If the former account holder is under 18 and the closed account was in sole name, a parent/guardian may be required to provide their details to complete a reclaim or advise of a donation to charity.

I am not able to reclaim my money back. Can someone else do this for me?

Yes, a third party may be able to reclaim your money on your behalf depending on your personal circumstances. A balance reclaim form will need to be completed along with supporting documentation. We will advise what documents are needed to support the claim when you contact us. All parties (You and your representatives) will be required to provide certified photographic identification and address verification. Documents can be certified by the secure personalised link sent to your email address.

I have received a letter in relation to a Lombard facility, why have I received the letter from UBIDAC?

The unclaimed funds relate to an uncashed cheque which was issued to you when Lombard was part of Ulster Bank Ireland DAC (UBIDAC). Unclaimed funds are now queued for transfer to the Trust but there is still time to claim your funds before the transfer happens. This can be done by contacting our Customer Support team on 0818 210 260 (00353 1804 7475 if calling from abroad) and quoting the ‘your reference’ from your letter. Once the transfer to the Trust is completed, you can still claim your funds but the process may take a little longer.

I have received a letter in relation to an unclaimed account or product, however I closed my UBIDAC current/savings account; what does this letter relate to?

While you may have closed your relationship with UBIDAC, a number of years ago there may have been an outstanding balance that was linked to a product other than a current /savings account that had a remaining credit balance which UBIDAC was unsuccessful in returning to you previously.

The scenario that may be relevant to you could be one of the following:

Credit Cards (including business cards)
Mortgages
Money Desk accounts (including other investment products)
International Currency Accounts
Bankers Drafts (including Foreign Currency Drafts)
Other unclaimed balances or transactions such as Point of Sale refunds
